Tropical Themed Brunch Pool Party - All Dressed Up

Tropical Themed Brunch Pool Party

I recently worked on the most fun project with an amazing group of local Charleston creatives, and I'm so excited to finally share it with you all! In a collaborative effort, we planned a classic black and white tropical pool party brunch filled with swan floats, macaroons, tropical treats and gorgeous table scapes, all set to the background of the stunning Kiawah Island!

When planning our tropical brunch pool party, we wanted the style to be clean, classic, and fun. We decided on black, white, green and gold as our color scheme because it's a group of colors you can use year-round (especially here in Charleston!). When reaching out to Holly of Dandy Boutique on what we should wear, she immediately thought of the classic looks from Rove and Roam, an american made clothing company based out of North Carolina!

Classic, affordable, American made clothing that is as adorable as it is comfortable? Yes please! When thinking of the food, we decided on a brunch spread because it perfectly complimented the fun, tropical vibes.

We reached out to Ashley ABCD Cakes, a local Charleston baker and she created the gorgeous hand-painted macarons that couldn't possibly have been more perfect with our theme! She even took the time to draw out each of our names to personalize the treats. And yes, they were just as delicious as they were beautiful!

Trying to think of every detail, I came up with the idea for the DIY 'YAY' drink stirrers.. tutorial to come! Another tutorial to come will be for the fruit pizza cookies and pineapple cookies I made! Fruit pizza has always been one of my favorite desserts, and I knew it would be a perfect addition to our brunch spread. We wanted to incorporate pineapple details, and I needed another dessert.. luckily for me, I stumbled upon a pineapple cookie cutter at Williams-Sonoma (find a similar one here) and inspiration struck!

For even more unique and personalized details, Liz reached out to Danielle of The Town Serif to create the gorgeous black and white calligraphy paper palm leaves as place cards for the table setting! Speaking of the table scape, Liz did such an amazing job styling it, along with the dessert table! Liz's styling along with the gorgeous floral arrangements and greenery by Andrea of Charleston Flower Girl all set to the background of the gorgeous Kiawah Island created such stunning views!

Overall, it was such a fun day at Sweetgrass Properties on Kiawah Island! I had a blast planning the perfect tropical pool party with Liz, Holly, Andrea and Mary Beth and was so happy with how everything turned out! I already can't wait to come up with more fun projects to put together with these amazingly talented ladies!

At the end of the shoot, we got to pop the bubbly, enjoy the desserts and lay by the pool; it couldn't have been a more perfect way to enjoy a Saturday! Even living so close, I had never ventured to Kiawah before. I already can't wait to go back!

Charleston is such an amazing place filled with brilliant, talented and welcoming people, and working on a project like this, I couldn't help but feel so blessed to be included and to live here! I hope you enjoy scrolling through our photos, and hopefully we've inspired you to create your own tropical brunch!*Cheers*

XOXO
